Florida in the Fall!

Kristy, Mark and I found some cheap tickets to fly to Florida.
This was our timeshare in Orlando.

Stacey and Eric made the two hour drive from Gainesville.
We spent a very fun day at Disneyworld!

We happened to be there on the opening night of their
Christmas Party.

The park was totally decorated, free hot cocoa, no lines for the rides and SNOW!

They had a Christmas parade and incredible fireworks!

We enjoyed the 80 degree weather!

We pulled off an early Thanksgiving dinner at the hotel and invited
friends from Orlando to join us.

Visiting Sienna at her new home in Florida.
I got to stay on and help Stacey in her second
grade class. I wish we all lived closer!

October

My childhood friend, Ellen, came for a visit from Washington. We always have plenty of memories to talk about when we get the chance to get together.

After living in this house almost nineteen years, we finally updated our bedroom and remodeled the bathroom.

This is now one of my favorite places!

Washington DC in the Fall is beautiful! I took a group of high school students to see the sights, including Williamsburg and Monticello. This is Sunnie, who also works with the horses at the ranch.

The daughter of my friend that works with me got married in Carmel with beautiful views of the Monterey Bay.
Ruth and I helped with the flowers.

R&R at Lake Tahoe!

Steven was doing a Jack Johnson show in Golden Gate Park in San Francisco.
We had a chance to 'kidnap' him long enough to share a meal enroute to Lake Tahoe.

Our timeshare is within walking distance of the lake.

Perfect weather!

We rented a boat one afternoon,,,,

and navigated around Emerald Bay.
.
Another afternoon we went rafting down the Truckee River.

My Fun Job!

One of the fun parts of my job is planning educational study trips. This one was for fourth graders who had studied California History. We visited the Capitol in Sacramento and many historic sites and even panned for gold!

We saw such diverse scenery when I took a group to Montana and Wyoming. Here we are in Yellowstone Park. We had so much fun white water rafting and staying on an Indian Reservation.

A longtime friend from Arizona came to visit for a weekend.

Cristy had a great time horse back riding and seeing all the animals.

Kristy is teaching horseback riding lessons on her day off from her nanny job (nine year old quadruplets!) She took a couple horses to the beach for a student's birthday.

Black Lake Bible Camp

Kristy spent the summer as a camp counselor in Olympia Washington. I went to visit her for her 20th birthday. This was a shot of Crater Lake taken from the plane.
The lake and camp was within walking distance of the Alsin's home, old friends from Salinas.
The counselors had 5 year olds in day camp to high school age students for a week at a time.
The junior age kids had a western theme. They slept in tipis and covered wagons.

This is the view she had from her cabin when she had high school students.
Even though it was tiring and lots of work, Kristy loved her summer in the Pacific Northwest!
She made lots of great friends, one in particular - Tyler Alsin!

Three Comer Generations fly to Indiana!

Ruth joined me on the trip to take Lilly home to Indiana. Here they are at a Cracker Barrel.
Steven showed us around Ball State University, where he has worked for several years, before leaving on a Jack Johnson tour to Europe.
Here is where Bill proposed to Ruth in Muncie, Indiana, a few miles from Steve and Krystal's home!
This is a remodeled version of what Ruth thinks was Bill's family home in Muncie.
This is the building where she had her high school graduation a few years back!
Russ and Margie Long, friends in Indiana from when they lived in the same complex as newlyweds attending Indiana University.
We drove through the campus of Indiana University in Bloomington which brought back many found memories for Ruth.

Lilly Visits GG and Papa!

Lilly and Licorice quickly bonded!

Lilly took the role of cowgirl very seriously! She wore her new pink hat all the time!

Lilly had never gotten to play at the beach before so an afternoon at Pacific Grove was great fun!

Papa helped build a sand castle

GG (Grandma Gayle) and Lilly collected shells and popped seaweed pods!

Ruth enjoyed the day at the beach out of the sun, watching us from the car.
